Which exam you take would depend on your own situation, have you prepared for SCJP 5 & are due to give your exam sometime soon & are now toying with the idea of SCJP 6, or are you starting to prepare from scratch & you have enough time to pick up the SCJP 6 changes.
If you've prepared for SCJP 5 & have very little time to catch up with SCJP 6 changes, go for the SCJP 5, most likely companies are still working with SCJP 5 & your skillset should be valued, even as a fresher, atleast where I work. When starting from scratch, SCJP 6 may seem to have a longer residual value in the eyes of recruiters. Don't forget that either of these certifications will be valued & should help your resume to bubble to the top of the lists.

Thank you very much for the precious information. I am starting the preparation from today and I set a 2 month time frame to take up the exam. I think I should go for SCJP 6.0 only.
